A little blue butterfly, out in the world

If you've spotted the little blue butterfly on one of our caps and wondered about it — it's for Luca. The butterfly was always his, and seeing it out in the world, on people we've never met, means more than we can put into words.

The cap came from Uggly & Co and Diamond, who came to us wanting to make something in his memory. They sat with us, filmed and talked with us at the Stratford Butterfly Farm, and understood straight away that the butterfly was never just a nice design — it was him. Since then, the response has rather floored us. In August, Uggly & Co shared that the Butterfly Cap had raised £48,900, and by early November their page was reporting more than 1,300 caps sold and over £48,000 donated to the Foundation. Every single one is someone choosing to carry a little bit of Luca with them.

That's what the cap is — a tribute and a helping hand, both at once. “Love can shine through everything, always” is what we hold onto, and somehow a small blue butterfly says it too.
